Guest Lecture on the topic “EMERGING TRENDS IN POWER SYSTEMS” on 21.6.2018 for the students of Pre- Final and Final Year students of EEE Dept.

 Dr. M.Sridevi , HoD/EEE , welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering by an excellent welcome address. The event was presided by our Principal Dr.R.S.Kumar and he honoured the chief guest.

The guest lecture was presented by Dr. D.P.Kothari who is an educationalist and eminent professor who has held leadership positions at engineering institutions in India including  former Director i/c IIT Delhi and Vice chancellor at many recognized institutions.  As a recognition of his contributions to engineering education, he was honoured as an IEEE Fellow.  He has authored nearly 54 books and he also published 825 papers.

Prof. Dr. D.P.Kothari started the lecture by giving motivational tips to the students to crack the GATE Exam which will enhance the students technical knowledge. He also encouraged the staff members to do research and to publish atleast a single research paper every academic year. The lecture was mainly about the energy available in India and its past and future.  The discussion was about thermal, nuclear, hydro, geothermal, biomass, solar, wind power plant, magnetic hydrodynamics, electric vehicle etc.  In future only renewable source of energy can be utilised because all non renewable source of energy causing many disadvantages to environment and human resource.
