Agni College of Technology, Thalambur, Chennai, organized the HR Summit 2018 at the College premises on Saturday, 24th March 2018. The summit focused on ‘Leveraging the opportunities ahead’.
The phenomenal summit started with a patriotic invocation followed by welcome address by Dr. R.S. Kumar, Principal, ACT. He began his address with a quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the Change You want to be”. Later, he welcomed the stars of the summit and mentioned that it was a rare moment to find all the HR Stars under one roof. He asked the students to make use of the opportunity and pursue their aspirations. Later, he highlighted the achievements of the institution in academic and training given to the students on Aptitude, Technical and Communication Skills. The Human Resources Managers were felicitated with a memento and bouquet. Mr. R.N. Jayaprakash, Managing Trustee, inspired the gathering with his Special Address. Addressing the HRs and the students, he stressed on the importance of bridging the gap between the institution and the industry. He added that for all the educational institutions, the need of the hour is to train their students with the skills sets needed to prepare them for future. He requested the HRs to make the summit as a Corporate Social Responsibility. He insisted the students to make use of the opportunities with utmost sense of commitment.

The second session of the summit marked the interactive session of the HR managers to the core departments at five different parallel venues. The objective of the summit was to create the time and space for Business leaders and HR managers to interact with the budding engineers and leaders of tomorrow. The HRs emphasized on the need for value based learning, equipping skills and consistently working hard to achieve their goals with self-confidence and positive attitude for successful career and life. The summit paved way to the students to meet and interact with the senior managers, and gain new insights and understand possible practical applications. The HR leaders addressed for an hour, which was followed by Q&A session and networking with faculty of the respective domains. Dr. Kavitha Vijayaraghan, HoD, Chemical Engineering proposed Vote of thanks and the summit ended with National anthem.
