Agni College of Technology, Thalambur, conducted its 18th Inaugural function for the First Year B.E./B.Tech. Courses on September 1st, 2018, at the college premise. The program started with an invocation song followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the Dignitaries and welcome speech by Mr. J. Khamrudeen from Final year Mechatronics. The Chief Guest was felicitated with a memento and bouquet. Later, Ms. Kavitha Vijayaraghavan, Placement Officer, organized a session named ‘Life at Agni’ through students, to give information about the facilities in the college.
Principal Dr. R.S. Kumar addressed the gathering and introduced the Heads of various Departments. Dr. Srinivasan Alavandar, Dean Academics delivered the Presidential Address. He spoke on the principles and values to be followed while their course of study. He requested the parents to spend time with their wards and also let know them the real status of their family, which would help them to understand the value of life. Mrs. Bhavani Jayaprakash, Chairperson and Mr. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Vice Chairman graced the function with their august presence.
Distinguished Chief Guest Mr. Arul Rajkumar, Vice President, IT Operations, FORD Motor Pvt. Ltd., gave a thought provoking and motivational speech on the present engineers’ status and their employability skills. His speech focused on students, teachers and parents. He spoke on the importance of being professionals and encouraged them to be confident in their journey to explore new horizons. In addition, he spoke on the difference between studying and learning. He stressed on the importance of positive attitude, communication skills and acquiring knowledge. He insisted the students to be self-confident and equip themselves to the revolution and revival of technology. He emphasized on the right attitude and illustrated examples of real life experience. Finally, he advised the students to participate in all activities and use the opportunities to succeed in their life.
Mr. J. Sathyaseelan, HR – Valeo India Pvt., Ltd., acquainted with the various avenues and opportunities and motivated the students to start work towards their goal. Mr. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Vice Chairman motivated the gathering to fulfill the dreams of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Dr. R. Balaji, Head, Dept. of S&H, proposed vote of thanks and the function dissolved with the National Anthem.
